2. 삶의 가치를 아는 세계로

그렇게 죄 사함은 성경의 모든 것이 그렇듯, 생명의 본성이 그렇듯, 우리 속에서 밖으로 나타나게 됩니다. 즉 자기 밖에 있는 것을 기준으로 죄 사함을 확인하게 되는 것이 아니라, 자기 안에 들어간 예수님이 보이신 온전한 하나님의 의가 우리에게 죄 사함을 확신하게 한다는 것입니다. 그러나 이것은 신앙의 시작에 불과합니다.

많은 사람들은 마치 구원과 죄 사함이 신앙의 목표라고 생각합니다. 그렇다보니 교회 다니면서 구원을 받았다는 사람들의 삶은 구원을 상실하지 않기 위한 노력으로 나타납니다. 자신을 구원하신 하나님께 그 은혜를 갚기 위하여, 또한 그 구원을 상실하지 않기 위하여 기도하고 전도하고 봉사하는 것 같은 삶을 삽니다. 

하지만 바울 사도는 이에 대하여

누가 주께 먼저 드려서 갚으심을 받겠느뇨(롬 11:35)

라고 말씀하고 있습니다. 즉 우리의 행위가 하나님의 보응을 가져올 수 없다는 것입니다. 우리가 어떤 행위의 공로나 소유의 드림으로 하나님께 구원이 유지된다는 보장을 받는 것과 같은 것은 아니라는 것입니다.

죄 사함 받은 구원의 삶은 죄가 사하여지고 구원을 받은 순간부터 살아가는 삶입니다. 그래서 이를 <거듭남>이라고 말씀하시는 것입니다. 그렇게 난 삶은 생명이 나면 그 생명으로 사는 것일 뿐입니다.

그런데 이 구원을 받은 삶이 진정한 기쁨이 되고 가치 있는 것으로 여겨지는 것은 쉬운 일이 아닙니다. 구원의 증거가 자신에게 있다고 당장 삶의 모든 것이 만족되는 것이 아닙니다. 오히려 진정한 구원을 맛본 사람은 우리의 행위가 하나님의 마음을 돌릴 수 없다는 것을 알기에 더 현실적인 삶으로 회귀하는 것 같이 느껴질 것입니다.

예전에 하나님을 육신의 문제를 해결해 주시는 신으로 알 때는 육신의 삶에 일어나는 문제들을 하나님께 기도하면 된다고 믿었기에 기도하고 나면 결과와 무관하게 기도한 순간만큼은 위로가 될 수 있었는데, 진정한 구원을 알게 되면 하나님이 우리 육신의 문제에 대한 기도를 들으시는 분이 아니라 오히려 이 구원도 하나님께서 하나님의 목적을 위하여 나를 구원하신 것임을 알기에 나를 위함이 아니라 하나님을 위한 것이라 여겨집니다. 그리고 그것은 분명한 진리이기도 합니다. 

문제는 그것이 우리 인생들이 수용하기에 즐거운 일도, 또 반갑고 쉽게 이해되고 상쾌한 일도 아니라는 것입니다. 이것은 참 어려운 문제지만 한 가지 분명한 것은 여기까지 왔다면 그것은 대단한 세계에 온 것입니다. 세상에서 성공하는 것이 하나님께 영광이라는 신앙 안에서는 이것이 어떤 세계인지 상상도 할 수 없는 세계이기 때문입니다.

하지만 신앙이 여기서 그친다면 놀랍고 신비한 세계에 속한 즐겁고 기쁨을 맛보지 못한 것 같이 될 수 있습니다. 뭐랄까 갓 태어난 아이가 세상을 제대로 누리지 못한 것과 같다고 할 수 있습니다. 거듭난 삶이 주는 진정한 기쁨을 누리는 세계가 있다는 것입니다. 그것은 진정한 감사와 기쁨의 세계입니다. 이것이 바로 삶의 가치를 아는 세계입니다.

성경에서 많은 사도들이 감사를 이야기 합니다. 놀랍게도 예수님께서 감사에 대하여 말씀하신 것은 그리 많지 않은데 제자들과 사도들은 감사에 대하여 참 많은 말씀을 하고 있습니다. 제자들과 사도들이 누굽니까? 그들은 부활하신 예수님을 만나고도 엠마오로, 바닷가로 그렇게 도망가고 생업으로 돌아가기도 했던 사람들입니다. 그들이 어느 날이 되어서 감사하라고 말씀하고 있습니다. 그것도 항상 기뻐하고 범사에 감사하라고.

사람들이 일반적으로 하나님께 감사하는 것은 신앙적 측면에서 보면 구원을 감사하기도 하지만 대부분은 육신의 일에 관하여 감사를 드립니다. 시험에 합격하게 해 주셔서, 위험한 일을 피하게 해 주셔서, 사업이 잘 되게 해 주셔서와 같이. 그러나 어떤 경우에는 그와 반대되는 일이 있어도 하나님께 감사해야 한다고 고상한척 설교하고 감사를 드리기도 하지만 그들의 그 감사는 결국 금도끼 은도끼를 기대하는 것입니다. 지금 실패에 대하여 감사를 드리면 정말로 감사하는 일이 생긴다는 것입니다. 사업에 실패했을 때 감사하면 성공하게 된다는 것입니다.

하지만 모든 것에 있어 가장 근본되는 감사는 자신이 존재했다는 그 자체가 감사한 일이 되어야 하는 것입니다. 삶은 고난이라고 하고, 그 삶은 어렵고 힘든 삶이기에 그 삶 속에서 어떤 쉬운 일이 일어나서 아니면 그 힘든 삶 속에서 어떤 즐거운 일이 일어나서 그것이 감사하다는 것은 암 환자가 감기 나았다고 감사하는 것에 불과한 것입니다. 인생을 고난이라 여겨 하나님의 도우심이 없으면 안 된다고 하는 가치관으로 살다 잠시 느끼는 인생의 고난에 대한 망각으로 감사하려니 범사에 감사한다거나 항상 기뻐하는 것은 먼 안드로메다에 있는 이야기가 되는 것입니다.

진정한 감사가 되려면 자신이 인생으로 존재하게 되었다는 것, 그것이 감사한 일이 되어야 하는 것입니다. 이전에 그냥 하나님께 육신의 일을 간구하면 편하기라도 했던 그 삶을 떠나 하나님께서 이 육신을 하나님의 의를 나타내기 위하여 지으셨다는 것을 알고서 느낀 어떤 상실감 같은 허전함, 구원의 기쁨이 위로가 되기는 하지만 만족이 되기에는 뭔가 어느 한 구석 부족했던 그 인생의 정체성 그것이 진정한 기쁨이 되고 감사가 되는 그야말로 기적과 같은 변화의 과정을 거쳐야 한다는 것입니다.

이는 예수님의 제자들과 바울 사도도 그러합니다. 예수님을 만나서 제자로 살고, 또 다메섹에서 회심했지만 3년간 아라비아에서 묵상한 바울 사도들이 그렇습니다. 제 2의 인생이라고 할 수 있는 삶이 있다는 것입니다. 예수님을 만나는 것, 그리고 다시 만나는 것, 이것을 성경에서는 다시 오신 주님이라고 말씀하시는 것입니다. 

그렇듯 모든 신앙인들은 죄 사함을 받아 그리스도의 심령으로 나는 만남이 있고, 다음으로 다시 오신 주님을 만나는 삶이 있다는 것입니다. 그리고 그 다시 오시는 예수님을 만날 때 비로소 자신의 인생이 가치 있는 것임을 알게 되는 것입니다. 

어떻게 보면 하나님을 위한 구원 같고, 인간의 존엄성은 어디가고 이 육신으로 하나님을 표현하는 아바타와 같이 살아야 한다는 것이 어딘가 허망하고 아쉬웠던 것이 만족과 기쁨과 감사가 되는 대 전환이 있다는 것입니다. 이 시절에 접어들면 그 삶은 이전과는 비교의 대상조차 되지 않습니다. 

그 놀랍고 놀라운 세계는 먼저 하나님의 존귀함을 제대로 아는 것에서 시작합니다. 하나님께서 나를 통해 하나님을 표현하시겠다는 계획으로 인하여 존재하지 않았던 내가 존재하게 되고, 그렇게 존재하게 되므로 인하여 존재하기 전에는 상상도 할 수 없었던 일, 곧 천지의 주재이신 하나님이 거하심으로 하나님과 하나가 되는 것을 영광으로 여기려면 단 하나 하나님의 존귀함이 자기 안에서 분명하게 드러나야 하는 것입니다.

그렇게 하나님의 존귀하심이 인정이 되면 하나님께서 나를 통해 그 성품을 표현하시겠다고 하심이 진정으로 놀라운 일이 되는 것입니다. 더욱이 그것은 하나님과 하나가 되는 것이라는 것인데 이 모든 것이 진정 귀한 일이 된다는 것은 하나님의 존귀하심이 인정이 되어야 하는 것입니다.

그렇게 되면 하나님께서 그 귀함을 나타내시기 위하여 존재하지 않았던 나를 존재하게 하셨다는 것이 진정한 감사가 되는 것입니다. 즉 자신이 존재하게 되었다는 것이 얼마나 놀라운 일이고 은혜며 감사한 일인지 고백하게 되는 것입니다. 그러면 존재한다는 것 그것이 감사한 사람이 되는 것입니다. 그러면 그 사람은 존재 자체가 감사하므로 범사에 감사하고, 존재 자체가 기쁨이므로 항상 기뻐하는 사람이 되는 것입니다. 그렇다는 것은 존재하게 되었다는 것이 감사하지 않으면 감사도 기쁨도 다 헛것이라는 것입니다.

이 놀라운 은혜를 누리는 사람들은 진정한 부활의 신앙을 가진 사람들입니다. 이 사람들은 다시 오신 주님을 만난 사람인 것입니다. 바로 그런 사람들이 있는 곳이 교회인 것입니다. 그래서 교회가 다시 오신 주님인 것입니다. 세상에 존재하게 되었다는 것, 그것이 모든 감사가 되는 심령을 가진 사람들, 다시 오신 주님이 심령에 있는 사람들이 모인 공동체가 교회가 되는 것입니다. 그래서 교회가 하나님의 나라가 되어 하나님과 하나 된 사람들의 삶을 위로하고 함께하는 것입니다.(이러한 교회는 또 다른 글에서 말씀드리겠습니다.

이제 글을 맺습니다. 죄 사함은 신앙의 시작이고, 그 시작은 삶의 진정한 가치를 하나님 안에서 발견하고서 공동체로서, 하나님 나라의 백성으로 육신의 수명이 다 할 때 까지 그 삶을 누리고 번성하는 것이 바로 생육하고 번성하며 주와 동행하는 삶인 것입니다. 이 블로그를 보시는 많은 분들이 우선은 성경에서 말씀하시는 죄의 문제와 인간 정체성의 문제에서 시작하실지라도 결국은 하나님의 존귀함이 하나가 된 삶의 진정한 가치로 평생을 그 귀함을 누리는 삶의 여정이 있음을 말씀드리며 모두가 이 놀라운 축복과 은혜가 자신의 일이 되시기를 기원드립니다.

Many people think that salvation and forgiveness are the goals of faith. So it seems that the lives of those who have been saved in church are shown in their efforts to not lose salvation. I live a life of praying, preaching, and serving so as not to lose that salvation to the God who saved Himself.

But the Apostle Paul

Who will receive the first to give to the Lord? (Romans 11:35)

It is said. That is, our actions can not bring God's reward. It is not like we are assured that salvation is sustained by God through the merits of an act or the dream of owning.

The life of salvation that has been forgiven is a life in which sin is forgiven and saved from the moment of salvation. That is why you are saying that you are born again. So life is only to live with life.

However, it is not easy for this saved life to be considered true joy and worthy. It is not that everything in life is satisfied at once that the evidence of salvation is to yourself. Rather, those who have tasted true salvation will feel like returning to a more realistic life because we know that our actions can not turn God's heart.

In the past, when we knew that God was the God who solved the problem of the body, we believed that we could pray to God for the problems that arise in the life of the body. After praying, the moment we prayed, regardless of the result, could be comforted. God does not listen to prayer for our physical problems, but rather that this salvation is for God, not for me, because He knows that He has saved me for His purpose. And it is also a clear truth.

The problem is that it is a pleasure for our lives to accept, and it is neither easy to understand nor refreshing. This is a difficult problem, but one thing that has come to the clear is that it has come to a great world. It is because the world is a world in which it is impossible to imagine what kind of world it is in the belief that it is glory to God.

But if faith ceases here, it can be as if you have not enjoyed the joy and joy of a wonderful and mysterious world. It can be said that a newborn child does not enjoy the world properly. There is a world that enjoys the true joy of born again. It is a world of true gratitude and joy. This is the world that knows the value of life.

Many apostles in the Bible speak thanksgiving. Surprisingly, not many Jesus has spoken of thanksgiving, but the disciples and the apostles are telling much about thanksgiving. But the most fundamental gratitude in everything is that you should be thankful that you exist. So the church is to become the kingdom of God and comfort and live the lives of those who are united with God.

Forgiveness of sins is the beginning of faith, and the beginning is to find and to prosper in the life of the flesh until the life of the flesh is fulfilled as a community, a people of the kingdom, and the true value of life found in God. 많은 사람들이 하나님을 믿고자 신앙을 가집니다. 그러나 안타깝게도 대부분의 사람들은 육신의 문제를 해결하기 위하여 하나님을 믿습니다. 세상에서 성공하고 평안한 삶을 보장 받고 이어서 천국에서 이 땅에서 원했던 것 이상의 평안한 삶을 사는 것이 신앙의 주요 목적입니다. 하지만 그런 중에도 많은 사람들은 자기 삶의 의미와 죄의 문제, 그리고 성경이 말씀하시는 인생에 대한 언급에 대하여 알고자 하는 하나님께서 기뻐하시는 마음을 가진 이들도 있습니다.

여기서 하나님을 육신의 문제를 해결하는 신으로 믿고 있는 것은 논제로서의 가치가 없습니다. 그것은 성경이 경계하시는 것이지 말씀하시는 것이 아니기 때문입니다. 가치 있는 논제라면 눈에 보이지 않는 ‘의’에 관하여, ‘죄’에 관하여 묵상하고 나누는 것입니다. 

실상 죄의 문제는 간단합니다. 한국 속담에 ‘등 업은 아기 3년 찾는다.’는 말이 있는데, 돌아보기만 하면, 아니 이때까지 ‘절대 그럴 리 없다.’고 자기 혼자 단정한 그 생각에서 벗어나기만 하면 되는 것입니다. 어차피 자기 생각이란 게 의미가 없기 때문입니다. 왜냐하면 자기 인생이 자기 의지로 시작한 것이 아닌데 자기 의지로 확신하는 것이 무슨 가치가 있겠습니까? 주제 파악을 잘 해야지.

사람이 죄 문제를 간단히 여기는 것은 앞에서 말한 것과 같이 자신이 자기 존재를 구성한 것이 아님에도 살아가고 있는 자기 존재의 목적을 알려고 하는 것에서 시작됩니다. 생각해보면 단 1회용인 이 인생은 분명히 소비재인데, 이 소비재의 안녕을 하나님께 의탁하는 것이 신앙이라고 하는 것은 웃을 일임에도 마치 기름을 넣어주기 위하여 자동차를 산 사람처럼 눈에 보이는 인생이 본질인양 살 것이 아니라, 이 인생의 본질적 의미가 무엇인지를 알고자 하는 마음에서부터 죄에 대한 모든 해결이 시작되는 것입니다.

이러한 죄 문제, 즉 '죄 사함'은 아쉽게도 눈에 보이는 증거가 있는 것이 아닙니다. 타락한 중세 기독교처럼 ‘면죄부’가 있는 것도 아니고, 그렇다고 교회에서 발급해주는 ‘세례증서’가 '죄 사함'의 증거도 아닙니다. 그런데 교회마다 죄를 사하여 준다고 떠벌이고 있긴 합니다만 다들 알다시피 그다지 신뢰가 가지 않는 것은 사실입니다.

“죄”라는 것이 ‘자기 자리를 벗어난 상태’이기에 '죄 사함'은 ‘자기 자리로 돌아가는 것’입니다. 눈에 보이는 육신을 신앙의 본체로 보고서 그 육체가 어떤 행동을 하면 그 육신의 삶에 어떤 일이 일어난다는 식의 행위의 신앙에서 돌아서서 이 소비하는 인생을 주신 목적으로 돌아가는 것이 '죄 사함'이라는 것입니다.

문제는 성경이 말씀하시는 이 본질적인 '죄 사함'에도 눈에 보이는 증거는 없다는 것입니다. 하나님께서 사람 지으신 목적 안으로 사람이 들어가면 머리에 별이라도 생기면 알기 쉬울 텐데 그 증거가 불확실하다는 것입니다. 그러나 여기에는 비밀이 있습니다. 눈에 보이는 증거를 찾는다는 것 역시 눈에 보이는 것을 신앙의 본질로 보는 세계의 안목이라는 것입니다.

놀랍게도 하나님께서는 사람을 하나님의 형상대로 만드셨고, 하나님의 의가 사람 안에 있을 때 사람이 온전한 존재가 되도록 하셨기에 사람은 하나님의 의가 자기 안에 있거나 밖에 있거나 알아본다는 것입니다. 사람들이 이것을 알아보지 못하는 것은 알지 못하고, 본 적이 없기 때문입니다. 

단지 눈에 보이는 세계가 본질이 아니라는 것을 알고 자기 존재의 목적을 알고자 하는 안목으로 보기 시작하면 먼저 자기 밖에 있는 하나님의 의를 알아 볼 수 있게 되어 있고, 그것을 알아보는 순간 자신이 본 것이 자기 안에 씨가 심기듯 심겨져서 자기 안에서 생명이 되는 놀라운 법이 있다는 것입니다. 이것을 우리와 같은 육신으로 오셔서 보여주신 분이 바로 예수님이십니다. 

그런데 사람들이 예수님을 믿노라 하면서도 이것을 알지 못합니다. 이에 대하여 예수님은 ‘빛이 세상에 왔지만 사람들이 알지 못하는 것’ 이라고 하셨습니다. 즉 죄 사함이 무엇이고, 그 확실한 증거가 드러나는 법이 있지만 사람들이 자기 생각대로 세상과 삶 그리고 하나님을 믿는 신앙을 정의하고 있기 때문에 보이지 않고 느낄 수 없을 뿐입니다.

하지만 예수님께서 이 땅에 오신 목적을 바로 아는 사람은 그 마음에 확신하는 바가 생기는 것을 알게 됩니다. 예수님께서는 수가성 여인에게 “네 안에서 생수가 넘쳐날 것”이라고 하셨고, 십자가를 앞두고 최후 만찬 즈음에 제자들에게 “보혜사 성령이 오시면 모든 것을 알게 될 것”이라고 하셨습니다. 이는 구원의 증거가 밖에 있는 것이 아니라 자기 안에 있다는 것을 알게 될 것이라는 것입니다.

구원, 곧 죄 사람의 증거가 자기 밖이 아니라 안에 있다는 것은, 세례 문답을 했다거나, 방언을 한다거나, 어떤 연월일에 자기가 구원 받았다고 증거를 받는 것이나, 교회에 다닌다거나 큰 기적을 경험한 것과 같은 사람 밖에서 안으로 작용한 어떤 기적이나 증거가 아니라 어떤 공로나 동작을 하지 않아도 자기 안에서 구원을 믿으려 하지 않아도 혹 부인하려 해도 그렇게 되지 않는 증거가 확인된다는 것입니다.

복음, 곧 이 육신은 하나님께서 그 성품을 표현하기 위하여 주신 삶의 도구라는 것을 알고 십자가를 몸소 지신 예수님과 같이 이 육신은 하나님의 일을 표현하는 것에 수고하며 사는 것이라는 것을 알고 살면 어떤 순간 자신도 모르게 이전과 다른 결정을 하고 이전과 다른 생각을 하게 됩니다. 그런데 그런 자신의 모습을 보니 예수님께서 그렇게 되리라고 하신 것이고, 사도들이 전한 것임을 알게 되는 때가 이르게 됩니다. 그때는 세상의 어떤 것으로도 자신이 ‘하나님의 의’ 안에 있다는 것, 예수 그리스도 안에 있다는 것을 부인할 수 없게 됩니다. 그렇게 죄 사함은 우리 안에서 증거 되는 것입니다.

야고보 사도는 지혜가 부족하면 하나님께 구하라고 하셨습니다. 그러면 하나님께서는 후히 주실 뿐 아니라 꾸짖지도 않는다고 하셨습니다. 이 야고보서의 기록 목적에 비추어 본다면 사람들이 믿음과 행함이라는 명제에 있어 어느 하나만 선택하거나 중요하게 여기는 것은 하나님께서 우리에게 육신을 가진 인생을 주신 의미를 알지 못하기 때문입니다. 

하나님께서 우리 육신의 내용이 되시고 육신을 가진 우리는 그것을 표현하는 존재라는 것을 알면 믿음과 행함은 하나라는 것을 알 것이기 때문입니다. 그리고 무엇보다 우리 육신의 존재 목적을 안다는 것은 하나님께서 우리를 창조하신 목적을 안다는 것이고, 그것은 우리 인생의 존재 정체성을 아는 것이기 때문에 사람에게 있어 이것을 아는 것 이상의 지혜는 없다고 할 수 있는 것입니다.

그러므로 사람이 자신이 살아가는 삶의 목적과 육신을 가진 인생으로서의 존재 정체성을 안다는 것이 가장 근본 지혜인 것입니다. 그리고 그것은 하나님이 가지신 것입니다. 하나님께서 사람을 만드셨으니 사람의 존재 정체성은 당연히 하나님께서 가지신 것입니다. 또한 하나님께서는 사람에게 그것을 강제로 주입시키시는 분이 아니라 사람이 그것을 스스로 받아들이기를 원하시는 분이시니 당연히 후히 주시려고 할 것이며, 사람이 그것을 알려고 구할 때에 꾸짖으실 이유가 없는 것입니다. 그리고 이것을 아는 것이 바로 하나님을 아는 것이기도 합니다.

여호와를 경외하는 것이 지혜의 근본이요 거룩하신 자를 아는 것이 명철이니라(잠언 9:10)
