(로마서 12:1-2) 하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻

하나님을 믿는 사람들에게 있어 가장 궁금한 것은 어쩌면 <하나님의 뜻>일지 모릅니다. 모든 일을 함에 있어 어떻게, 무엇을 하는 것이 하나님의 뜻인지를 늘 궁금해 합니다. 사람들이 그렇게 하나님의 뜻을 궁금해 하는 것은 사실 이유가 있습니다. 그것은 결과에 대한 부담감 때문입니다. 뭔가 잘못되었을 때 위험을 줄이고 싶은 것입니다.

물론 사람들의 그런 마음 자체는 잘못된 것이 아닐 수 있습니다. 하지만 그 결과의 형태 그리고 그 부담감의 종류가 무엇이냐는 좀 다른 문제입니다. 그 결과가 육신의 삶에 고통과 피해를 말하는 것이라면 이건 좀 심각한 문제가 됩니다. 역설적으로 그것은 <육신의 문제가 잘 풀리는 것=하나님의 뜻대로 한 것>이라는 공식이 성립됩니다.

이렇게 말하면 너무 간 것이라 할지 모릅니다. 하지만 사람들은 곤고한 일을 겪는 주변인에 대하여 이렇게 말합니다. “저 사람 교회에 나가야 하는데…”라고 말입니다. 다시 말해서 곤고한 일을 겪지 않고 편안하게 살려면 예수님을 믿어야 한다는 것입니다. 정작 그런 육신의 평안을 기대하려고 믿는 예수님은 십자가에서 고통 중에 돌아가셨는데. 그러다보니 예수님의 고통이 바로 나의 행복이라는 공식이 되는 것입니다. 다시 말해서 예수님을 믿는 것의 수혜자는 사람이 되는 것입니다. 하나님께서는 사람을 자기 형상을 표현하기 위하여 만드셨는데 말입니다. 즉 수혜자는 하나님이 되어야 하는데 사람이 될 때 하나님의 뜻이 이루어지고 축복받고 좋은 신앙을 가진 것이 된다는 것입니다.

하나님의 뜻은 사람들이 일반적으로 생각하는 것과 같이 인생의 평안과 삶의 축복을 이끌어내는 선택에 관한 것이 아닙니다. 그것을 하나님의 뜻으로 아는 것은 정말로 하나님을 모독하는 것입니다. 존재의 신을 소유와 공로의 신으로 치부하니, 남자에게 비키니 수영복을 선물하는 것과 다를 바 없는 것이기 때문입니다. 그런데도 사람들은 하나님을 뜻을 그렇게 생각하는 것이 고착화 되었습니다. 대학 입시 때 학과 선택을 두고 ‘하나님의 뜻이 무엇이지?’라고 말하는 것은 ‘어떤 학과가 돈을 잘 벌 수 있는지?’를 대신하는 말이 된 것과 같이 말입니다.

바울 사도는 우리에게 <하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻>을 분별하라고 하였습니다. 하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻이란 어떤 것일까요? 앞에서 말하듯 하나님을 믿는 사람의 육신의 삶이 꽃길이 되는 것일까요? 그렇지 않습니다. 물론 그렇다고 육신이 십자가를 지는 것과 같은 고통을 당하는 것 역시 아닙니다. 

나 ㅏ여호와가 말하노라 너희를 향한 나의 생각은 내가 아나니 재앙이 아니라 곧 평안이요 너희 장래에 소망을 주려하는 생각이라(렘 29:11)

하나님의 선은 사람들이 생각하는 선이 아닙니다. 하나님의 선은 하나님이 옳다고 여기는 것입니다. 그것이 하나님의 선입니다. 하나님께서 선하다고 여기시는 일이 일어나면 하나님이 기뻐하실 것입니다. 그리고 당연히 하나님이 선하다고 생각하는 것은 하나님이 온전하게 여기는 것입니다. 선한 일이 생겼다면 그 일을 보수하지는 않을 것이기 때문입니다. 그것이 온전함입니다.

그러면 누가 어떤 것을 선하게 여기느냐는 결국 그 누군가가 무엇을 의로 여기는 정체성을 가졌는가의 문제입니다. 같은 것이라도 어떤 의를 가졌는가에 따라 선한 것이 달라지기 때문입니다. 한 나라의 법도 검사가 보면 죄를 만드는 것에 사용하고 변호사가 보면 죄가 없다는 것을 증명하는데 사용하는 것과 같습니다. 그러니 세상의 어떤 존재도 존재한다는 그 자체로 선하고 악한 것이 정해지는 것이 아니라 어떤 의를 만나느냐에 따라 선하게도 되고 악하게 되기도 하는 것입니다.

그러므로 세상의 일은 잘 되는 것이 선한 것이라는 것은 세상의 가치관입니다. 눈에 보이는 육신이 세상에서의 평안과 안녕과 부요의 상태가 되면 좋은 것이라고 여기고 그것을 한 없이 추구하는 세상의 안목으로 볼 때 선한 것이 되는 것입니다. 하지만 그것은 하나님이 보실 때 악한 일이 될 수도 있는 것입니다. 그렇게 세상에서 잘 되는 일이 하나님께서 세상과 사람을 만드신 뜻이 나타나는데 사용되었는지의 문제가 있기 때문입니다.

하나님의 뜻은 세상에서 사람이 평안하고 부유하게 되는 것을 선으로 여기시는 것에 있지 않습니다. 그렇게 되는 것이 신의 뜻이라고 여기는 것은 바알과 아세라의 신앙입니다. 아무리 하나님을 믿노라 해도 하나님을 믿어 얻고자 하는 것이 그것이라면 그것은 바알과 아세라를 믿는 것이라는 것입니다. 하나님은 소유나 공로나 눈에 보이는 세계의 풍요를 선한 것으로 여기시는 분이 아니기 때문입니다. 그것은 하나님의 정체성이 소유와 공로의 신이 아니라 존재의 신이시기 때문입니다.

그러므로 하나님의 뜻은 하나님께서 사람에게 계획하신 일이 이루어지면 선한 것이고, 그렇지 않다면 세상에서 평안하게 되는 것, 도덕적인 삶을 사는 것, 남을 위해 희생하고 봉사하는 것과 같은 그 어떤 것이라도 하나님 앞에서는 선한 것이 아니라는 것입니다. 이것은 바울 사도가 고린도전서 13장에서 말씀하신 사랑의 개념이 그렇고 예수님과 부자 청년의 대화에서도 충분히 알 수 있는 것입니다.

그러므로 바울 사도가 말씀하고 있는 하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻은 세상에서 선하게 여기는 것이 아니라 하나님께서 사람을 향하여 창세전부터 가지셨던 창조의 목적이 무엇인지를 구별하라는 것입니다. 그러니까 세상에서 어떤 선택을 해야 도덕적으로 선한 사람이 되는 것인지, 아니면 어떤 선택을 하는 것이 선하게 부자가 되는 것인지, 또 어떤 선택을 해야 다소간의 희생을 가지더라도 정의롭고 도덕적인 선택이 되는지 그리고 어떤 것이 성경을 행위로 지켜낸 것이 되는지를 분별하라는 것이 아니라, 그런 모든 하나님의 의도와 다른 갈등을 하는 것이 아닌 하나님께서 자신을 만드신 목적이 무엇인지를 알도록 노력하는 것입니다. 그것이 바로 하나님의 뜻을 분별하는 것입니다.

사람들이 하나님의 뜻을 알려고 하는 것은 세상에는 있는데 성경에는 언급이 되지 않은 것이 많기 때문입니다. 세상에는 노래방이 있고 노래방에 가는 문화가 있는데 성경에는 어떻게 하라는 것이 없습니다. 세상에는 PC방이 있고 게임이 있는데 성경에는 그런 것을 어떻게 하라는 것이 없습니다. 사람들은 대학과 직장을 선택하고 자기 일을 찾는데 많은 노력을 기울이지만 성경에는 대학을 어떻게 하라는 말도 직장을 어떻게 하라는 말이 없습니다. 그래서 사람들은 그런 일들 앞에서 하나님의 뜻이 무엇인지 분별하려고 합니다.

어디 그 뿐입니까? 교회는 더 웃깁니다. 교회 예산을 기획할 때 모여서 기도하기를 ‘어떤 것이 하나님의 뜻인지 잘 기획할 수 있도록 해 주십시오!’ 기도합니다. 수련회를 앞두고는 ‘어디로 가야하는지, 가서 어떤 행사를 해야 하는지, 어떤 강사를 청빙해야하는지’를 위해 기도합니다. 그런 것이 하나님의 뜻이라는 것입니다.

이 얼마나 웃기는 일입니까? 그런 교회들은 단언컨대 하나님을 믿는 곳이 아닙니다. 하나님을 믿는다면 하나님의 온전하심을 믿을 것이고, 성경이란 빠진 것이 없다는 것도 믿을 것인데 성경에 없다고 하나님의 뜻을 구한다는 것은 하나님을 부족한 신으로 믿는 것이니 그것은 하나님을 믿지 않는 것입니다. 

정말로 하나님을 믿는다면 성경은 사람이 알아야 할 하나님의 모든 뜻이 이미 다 말씀되어 있다는 것을 아는 것입니다. 그것은 성경에 없다면 하나님의 관심 사항이 아니라는 것입니다. 그러니 성경에 없는 것이 자기 인생의 중요한 문제기에 하나님께 기도하는 것은 하나님과 자신이 인생을 보는 안목이 다르다는 것입니다. 다시 말해서 하나님과 의가 다르다는 것입니다. 그러므로 그런 신앙을 가졌다는 것은 하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻은 전혀 모르는 것이라는 것입니다.

하나님의 뜻을 분별하는 것은 삶 속에서 직면한 문제들 앞에서 어떤 선택이 하나님의 뜻인지를 알려고 하는 것이 아닙니다. 하나님의 뜻을 아는 것은 이 세상에 자신을 살게 하신 하나님의 의도를 아는 것입니다. 하나님께서 인생을 창조하신 목적을 아는 것입니다. 그것을 알고 그 뜻 안에서 자신을 만드신 하나님의 의가 자기 삶의 본질과 내용과 생명의 본성이 되는 것입니다. 그것이 하나님의 뜻을 아는 것이고 우리의 몸과 삶을 하나님께 산 제사로 드리는 것입니다.

For those who believe in God, the most curious thing is perhaps God's will. I always wonder how God does what and how to do all things. This is a serious problem if the result is to speak of pain and harm in the life of the flesh. Paradoxically, it is a formula that says, "The problem of the flesh is solved well, according to the will of God."

If you say this, you may have gone too far. But people say about the surrounding people who are having a hard time. "I have to go to church ... "He says. In other words, to live comfortably without experiencing hard work, you must believe in Jesus. Jesus, who believed in expecting the peace of the body, died on the cross in pain. So, the pain of Jesus is the formula of my happiness. In other words, the beneficiary of believing in Jesus is being a person. God made man to express his image. In other words, the beneficiary must be God, and when he becomes a man, God's will is accomplished, blessed, and have good faith.

God's will is not about choices that lead to the peace of life and the blessings of life, as people generally think. To know it as the will of God is indeed blasphemy. It is because it is no different than presenting a bikini bathing suit to a man, as he divides the god of being as the god of ownership and merit. Nevertheless, it is fixed that people think of God as their will. The apostle Paul asked us to discern "God's good, pleasing and perfect will". What is the will of God that is good and pleasing and perfect? Does the physical life of a person who believes in God become a blossoming road, as I said before? It is not. Of course, it does not mean that the body is suffering as a cross.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  (Jeremiah 29:11)

God's good is not the line that people think. God's good is what God considers right. That is God's good. God will rejoice when things happen that God is good. And of course, what God thinks good is that God is perfect. If good things do happen, they will not do it. That's perfect.

Then, who wants to be good at the end is the question of what identity someone sees as justification. Even if it is the same, it depends on what kind of righteousness it has. A lawyer's test in a country is like using it to make a sin, and a lawyer is like using it to prove that there is no sin. Therefore, the existence of any existence in the world is not itself defined as good or evil, but is good and evil depending on what kind of righteousness you meet.

Therefore, it is the value of the world that good things in the world are good. When the visible body becomes a state of peace, well-being, and wealth in the world, it is good, and in the eyes of the pursuit of the world it is good. But it may be evil when God sees it. What is happening in the world is because there is a question of whether God was used to bring forth the world and the will of man.

God's will is not in the goodness of being a man's peace and richness in the world. It is the faith of Baal and Asherah that it is the will of God to be so. No matter how you believe in God, if you believe in God, then it is to believe in Baal and Asherah. God is not one who regards possession, merit, or abundance of the visible world as good. It is because God's identity is not a god of possession and merit but a god of being.

Therefore, the will of God is good if the work that God has planned for man is fulfilled; otherwise, anything like resting in the world, living a moral life, sacrificing and serving for others, It is not. This is not only the concept of love Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13, but also in the conversation between Jesus and the rich youth.

Therefore, what the apostle Paul speaks is not to be good in the world, but to distinguish what purpose God created for man from creation before creation. So what choice in the world will make a morally good person, or what choice will make a rich person wealthy, and what choice will be a just and moral choice, even with some sacrifice, Not to discern if it is what has been guarded, but to try to know what purpose God made for himself, not to conflict with all other God's intentions. That is to discern God's will.

It is in the world that people are willing to know God's will, because there are many things that are not mentioned in the Bible. There is a karaoke room in the world and a culture to go to karaoke. There is a PC room in the world and there is a game. People choose to go to college and work and find a lot of work to do, but there is no word in the Bible about how to work in college. So people try to discern what God's will is in front of such things.

Where is it? The church is getting smarter. Pray in the planning of the church budget. Pray that we can plan what is God's will. Before the retreat, I pray for "where to go, what kind of event to go to, what kind of instructor should I call". That is the will of God.

How funny is this? Such churches are not a place to believe in God. If you believe in God, you will believe in God's integrity, and you will believe that there is nothing missing. To seek God's will without the Bible is to believe God as a deficient god.

If you truly believe in God, then the Bible knows that all the will of God that man must know is already told. If it is not in the Bible, it is not God's concern. Therefore, praying to God that there is nothing in the Bible is an important problem in your life. In other words, it is different from God. Therefore, having such a faith means that God does not know the good, pleasing and perfect will of God.

To discern the will of God is not to know what choice is God's will before the problems facing in life. To know God's will is to know God's intention to live in this world. Knowing the purpose God created for life. The righteousness of God, who made it in the knowing of it, is the essence and content of life and the nature of life. That is knowing the will of God and offering our body and life as a sacrifice to God.
