(빌립보서 4:1-7) 염려하지 말라

아무 것도 염려하지 말고 오직 모든 일에 기도와 간구로, 너희 구할 것을 감사함으로 하나님께 아뢰라(빌 4:6)

방금 전까지 기뻐하고 관용을 베풀라고 권면한 바울사도가 난데없이 염려하지 말라는 말씀을 하고 있습니다. 그것은 빌립보의 성도들에게 권면하는 것, 곧 기뻐하고 그리스도의 성품을 드러내는 일은 어떤 면에서 보면 염려할 것이 있다는 것입니다. 그러나 이것은 보통의 신앙인들이 성경대로 살지 않으면 자신이 하는 사업이 망하거나 건강이 악화되는 것과 같이 육신의 안위가 상하는 것을 걱정하는 것과는 전혀 다른 것입니다. 

빌립보의 성도들은 예수님께서는 하나님 아들이심을 나타내었더니 십자에 못 박히셨고, 빌립보의 성도들이 사랑하는 바울사도는 복음을 전하다가 옥에 갇힌 것을 들었고 보고 있습니다. 그것을 보고 있는 이들에게 자기 안에 있는 그리스도의 본성을 드러내고 산다는 것이 예수님이나 바울사도와 같은 꼴이 될 수도 있다는 염려가 들겠지만 바울사도는 염려하지 말라는 것입니다.

우리가 교회에 가서 듣는 염려, 곧 염려하지 말라고 할 때 그 염려는 바울사도가 말씀하고 있는 것과는 다른 것입니다. 이것은 앞서 말한 것과 같이 세상일, 육신의 안위와 복락에 대한 기대가 이루어지지 않을까 하는 염려입니다. 사람들을 그것을 염려하느라 억지로 성경을 지키려합니다. 하지만 성경이 염려하지 말라는 염려는 그런 것이 아닙니다. 

하나님께서 염려하지 말라는 것은 우리 인생이 하나님이 자신을 지은 뜻대로 살아 갈 때 겪게 되는 것에 대한 염려입니다. 무엇을 먹을지에 관한 것도 아니라, 무엇을 입을지에 관한 것도 아닙니다. 예수 믿는 사람이 세상에서 실패한 삶을 살면 어떻게 될 것인지를 염려하는 것이 아닙니다. 

예수님과 같이 십자가에서 죽기만 하면 어떻게 복음이 전해질 것인지, 스데반과 같이 설교 한 번하고서 죽는다면 무슨 일이 일어날 것인지 염려하지 말라는 것입니다. 기뻐하고 관용을 베풀고 난 다음에 어떤 일이 있을지 염려하지 말라는 것입니다. 관용을 베풀었으니 상대가 하나님의 잘 받아들일 것인지 염려하지 말라는 것입니다. 그런 것은 염려하지 말고 우리가 구할 것만 감사함으로 구하면 하나님께서 다 들으신다는 것입니다. 왜냐하면 그것은 하나님의 일이기 때문입니다.

사람이 어떤 일을 대할 때에 그 일이 어떻게 되어야 한다는 생각이 없다면 간섭이나 염려 같은 것은 하지 않습니다. 그러므로 자기의 선택이나 의지로 세상에 들어오지 않은 인생이 무엇을 염려한다는 것은 사실 다 삶을 주신 이에 대한 간섭이고 월권입니다. 간섭하고 걱정한다는 것은 이미 자기 안에 어떤 기준이 있다는 것입니다. 어떻게 되어야 하는데 그렇게 되지 않을까 싶을 때 간섭하고 염려하는 것입니다. 

하나님께서 성경을 통해서 우리에게 염려나 근심하지 말라고 말씀하시는 것은 다른 각에서 본다면 이 세상은 내가 잘 알아서 한다는 의미이기도 합니다. 내가 만들고, 내 뜻대로 경영하는 것은 사람들은 염려하지 말고 그저 사람을 지은 하나님의 뜻과 목적을 알고 그것을 표현하고 살기만 하라는 것입니다. 그것이면 족한 것입니다. 여호와가 목자시니 부족함이 없다는 것이 그것입니다. 무엇을 먹을지 무엇을 마실지 염려하지 말라는 것이 그것입니다.

그런데 사람들은 그것을 넘어서 자기 육신의 삶이 어떻게 되는지를 모든 것의 기준으로 삼고서 그 기준에 입각해서 하나님의 일을 염려한다는 교묘함 뒤에서 자신을 걱정합니다. 자기 인생을 자신이 조성한 것이 아님을 망각한 체. 육신의 삶이 잘되면 하나님이 은혜를 주신 것이고 복 받는 것이라고 여기는 기준을 가지고 그렇게 되지 않을까 염려합니다. 그리고 더 나아가서 자신의 육신이 초라해지면 하나님의 일이 초라해질까 염려합니다. 그것은 겸손이 아니라 월권이고 도전이며 하나님을 무능하게 여기는 것입니다.

더 나아가서 하나님의 일도 염려할 것이 아닙니다. 끌려가는 예수님을 말렸던 베드로와 같지 않고, 롯의 두 딸과 같지 않으며, 사울 왕과 같지 않아야 하는 것입니다. 하나님은 자기 앞가림도 못하시는 분이 아닙니다. 사람이 하나님의 일을 걱정할 것이 아니라는 것입니다. 

사람은 자신을 지으신 하나님의 뜻을 표현하고 살기만 하면 그 다음은 다 하나님께서 하신다는 것입니다. 자기 존재의 의미를 깨달은 기쁨으로 살고, 그 기쁨의 근원인 그리스도의 성품을 관용으로 표현하며 살면 그 다음은 다 하나님의 몫이라는 것입니다. 바로 그것이 바울사도가 염려하지 말라고 말씀하는 본질적인 내용이라 할 수 있는 것입니다.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.(Philippians 4: 6)

The saints of Philippi showed that Jesus is the Son of God, crucified, and the Apostle Paul, who is loved by the saints of Philippi, hears the gospel and listens to the imprisonment. The apostle Paul should not be concerned, though it may concern that those who see it may be exposed to the nature of Christ in himself and become like the apostles of Jesus or Paul.

When we say we are concerned about going to church and not worrying, that concern is different from what Paul says. This is the concern that the expectation of the world affairs, the comfort of the body, People are trying to keep the Bible by worrying about it. But that is not the concern that the Bible is not to worry.

To be anxious about God is to worry about what our life will experience when God lives on His will. It is not about what to eat, nor about what to wear. It is not that people who believe in Jesus are worried about what would happen if they lived a failed life in the world.

Do not worry about how the gospel will be delivered if you die on the cross, just like Jesus, and what happens if you die in preaching like Stephen. Do not worry about what will happen after you are glad and tolerant. We have tolerance, so do not worry if your opponent will accept God well. Do not worry about it, but if we ask God for what we ask, we will hear God. Because it is God's work.

If you do not think what should be done when a person does something, there is no such thing as interference or concern. Therefore, it is in fact the interference with the person who gives the life that it is the concern that the life which does not come into the world by the choice or the will of the person is concerned. Interference and worry is that there is some standard in you. What should be done is to interfere and to be anxious when it does not happen.

The fact that God tells us not to be anxious or worrying us through the Bible is another aspect of the world that I know very well. I do not care about people to build and manage my will, but to know God's will and purpose, who made man, and to express and live it. That is enough. That is because Jehovah is a shepherd, there is no shortage. That is, do not worry about what to eat or what to drink.

However, people worry about themselves beyond the trickery of being concerned about God's work on the basis of everything based on what happens to their physical life beyond that. A person who forgets that his own life was not created by himself. I am afraid that if the physical life is good, God will do so with the standard of blessing and blessing. Furthermore, I worry that if my body is shriveled, the work of God will become shabby. It is not a humility but a whirlwind, a challenge, and a disability to God.

Furthermore, God's work is not to be concerned either. It is not like Peter, who had dried up Jesus, and not like the two daughters of Lot, and not like the king of Saul. God is not one who can not overcome himself. Man is not to worry about God's work.

Man expresses the will of God who created Himself, and if He lives, then everything is God's. If we live by the joy of realizing the meaning of self-existence, and live by expressing the character of Christ, the source of its joy, with generosity, then everything is God's part. That is the intrinsic content of Paul's apostle's concern.
