(로마서 10:1-15) 누구든지 주의 이름을 부르는 자는

사람들은 많은 분석을 합니다. 예를 들어 우뇌가 발달한 사람은 어떻고, 반대로 좌뇌가 발달한 사람은 어떻다고 합니다. 신앙 안에서는 어떤 사람이 계시에 밝으면 ‘그 사람은 어떤 특징이 있어서 하나님께서 복을 주신다.’는 분석을 합니다. 사람들이 그렇게 하는 것은 다름이 아니라 자신도 그렇게 되고 싶기 때문입니다. 그리고 자신이 어떤 부류에 속하는지에 의지하여 자신의 운명을 기대하고 싶기 때문입니다.

많은 경우 저에게도 ‘어떻게 헤서 이렇게 복음에 대하여 볼 수 있게 되었는가?’ 물어옵니다. 하지만 답답하게도 별다른 것이 없습니다. 다른 사람이 가지지 않은 어떤 특별함이 없기 때문입니다. 제가 모태신앙이라서? 그렇지 않습니다. 그것이 이 복음을 아는 이유라면 로마서를 쓸 자격도 없습니다. 모태신앙이 아닌 사람은 어떻게 할 것인지 답이 없기 때문입니다. 육신이 다시 태어나야 하는데 그럴 수 없기 때문입니다.

그런 것 중의 어느 하나가 바울이 사도가 되는 이유고 조건이라면 그런 것 없는 사람은 어떻게 하겠습니까? 바울 사도는 자신의 사도됨은 오직 하나님의 은혜로 말미암은 것이라고 단호하게 항상 말해왔습니다. 그렇기 때문에 로마서를 통해서 행위나 혈통이 하나님 앞에서 의로워지는 조건이나 이유가 될 수 없다고 말씀할 수 있는 것입니다.

그런데 오늘날은 어떻습니까? 신학교를 나와야 설교 할 수 있다고 합니다. 신학교를 나와서 강도권이 있고 안수할 수 있다고 합니다. 이것은 아무나 설교하고 아무나 안수하자는 것이 아닙니다. 신앙을 학문으로 공부해야만 그럴 수 있다고 하는 것이 하나님 앞에 부정한 것입니다. 그런 사람들이 로마서를 이야기하고 있습니다. 성경의 노른자니 어쩌니 하면서 말입니다.

하나님의 은혜를 입은 자라면 누구라도 설교할 수 있고, 마음에 감동이 있으면 누구라도 하나님의 말씀에 감동한 은혜를 이야기 할 수 있어야 합니다. 그렇지 않고, 어떤 학문, 어떤 수련, 어떤 조건이 있어야 설교할 수 있고, 목사가 되고, 장로가 된다고 하는 것은 로마서를 통해서 바울 사도가 말씀하고 있는 “누구든지”라는 조건이 깡그리 무너진 것입니다. 그런데 그것을 무너트린 사람들이 설교를 하고 있습니다. 그래서 이것이 가증한 것이 거룩한 곳에 서있는 것입니다.

바울 사도의 때에 유대인들이 로마 교회에 흘러 들어가서 그들에게 할례를 받아야 온전한 믿음이고 하나님 앞에서 의로워지는 것이라고 유혹한 것이나, 지금 이 시대에 목사라야 안수하고 설교할 수 있다고 하는 것은 동일한 것입니다. 하나님의 은혜를 받기 위해서는 어떤 조건, 예를 들어 그 부모가 기도를 많이 하면 좋다거나, 기왕이면 다홍치마니 세상에서 성공한 한 사람이 장로가 되는 것이 좋다거나, 기왕 예수 믿을 것이면 도덕적인 사람이 좋지 않으냐와 같은 것들은 그럴싸하지만 바울 사도의 때에 할례를 받아야 의로워진다고 주장하는 유대인들과 같은 것입니다.

로마서 전반에 흐르는 주제가 바로 이것입니다. 하나님 앞에서 의로워지는 것에는 육신의 어떤 조건도 필요치 않다는 것입니다. 오직 사람, 예수님께서 이 땅에 오실 때 입으신 그 육신과 동일한 육신을 가진 사람이라면 남자든, 여자든, 유대인이든, 헬라인이든, 사회적으로 부유하고 품위가 있든, 사창가를 전전하는 사람이든, 신학을 했든, 성경이라고는 읽어본 적도 없고 읽을 수도 없는 문맹이든 아무 상관이 없다는 것입니다.
