(유다서 1:17-19) 육신에 속한 경건치 않은 사람

성경의 핵심적인 요소가 육신을 가진 이 인생을 보는 관점의 문제라고 누누이 말해왔습니다. 육신을 주체와 목적으로 볼 것인지 아니면 육신이 존재하는 목적과 이유를 본질로 볼 것인지의 문제라는 것입니다. 이것을 알면 성경에 귀에 딱지가 붙을 정도로 많이 나오는 ‘육(肉)에 속한’이라는 것이 무슨 의미인지를 단번에 알 수 있습니다.

많은 사람들, 그리고 교회와 목사와 신학자들이 말하기를 육신의 생각은 육신의 본능에서 나오는 것이라고 말합니다. 탐심과 성욕과 식욕과 같은 것들, 그래서 그것을 신념으로 이겨낼수록 좋은 신앙, 경건한 신앙 더 나아가서 성직자가 된다고 여기는 육신에서 나오는 투쟁의 대상들이 육신의 생각이고, 그런 행동을 하는 사람을 육에 속한 사람이라고 말합니다.

하지만 반대로 육신을 삶의 주체나 본질로 여기지 않고 육신이 존재하는 목적, 분명하게 말한다면 하나님께서 육신을 주신 이유를 본질과 가치로 아는 가치관을 가진 세계에서 사는 사람이 바로 영에 속한 사람입니다. 그런 삶을 사는 사람은 사람이 가진 모든 것을 감사함으로 받습니다. 육신의 삶이 하나님께서 뜻하신 바가 있다는 것을 알고 믿는 이에게 하나님이 주신 육신의 모든 본성은 다 하나님의 뜻이 있다는 것을 알 수밖에 없기에 그것을 부정하게 여길 이유가 없는 것입니다.

이기심? 육신을 본질과 가치로 보는 이기심이야 지탄을 받아야 하겠지만, 하나님이 유일신이라는 것에 대한 타협할 수 없는 고집과 그 고집에 대하여 자신이 생각하는 것을 지키고, 모든 것을 그 가치관에 유입 시키려는 이기심은 선한 것이며, 분을 내고 화를 내는 것도 하나님의 의가 손상되고 육신을 삶의 본질과 주체로 알기에 저지르는 만행들을 보면서 가만히 있는다면 그것이 오히려 경건치 않은 것입니다.

그러므로 우리가 가진 모든 본성들, 때로 육신의 가치로 볼 때 없었으면 싶은 모든 것까지 다 하나님이 주신 이유가 있습니다. 그런 것이 부정하게 보인다는 것은 하나님께서 우리를 육신으로 지으신 뜻이 보이지 않기 때문일 뿐 그것 자체는 악하거나 부정하거나 약한 것이 아닙니다. 이것이 보이지 않는 사람이 바로 성경이 말하는 소경이며, 이것이 느껴지지 않는 사람이 문둥병자인 것입니다. 더 나아가서 이것을 알지 못하면서 다 아는 사람의 삶을 흉내 내듯 성경을 행위로 지키려고 하는 것은 예수님의 말씀과 같이 회 칠한 무덤이고 선지자 노릇일 뿐인 것입니다.
