요나서를 시작합니다.

그런데 이 요나서는 한편으로는 어렵습니다. 예수님께서 기적을 요구하는 유대인들에게 요나의 기적 밖에는 보여 줄 것이 없다고 하셔서 요나의 일은 예수님과 연결되어 있는데 그 내용은 예수님의 모습과 전혀 다르게 하나님께 반항하는 요나의 모습이 그려져 있기 때문에 선뜻 ‘요나가 좋은 선지자야?’라고 반문하게 만들기도 하고, 또 다른 하나는 자기 나라의 적국이고 이방인의 도시인 니느웨로 가고 싶지 않은 요나의 태도가 일면 이해되기도 하는 면이 있기 때문입니다. 또 한 가지 중요하지는 않지만 요나와 하나님의 대화는 마치 농담 같은 분위기가 나는 것도 특징적이긴 합니다.
