(제 8계명) 도적질 하지 말라 – 도적질의 뿌리

도적질이라는 것이 자기의 것이 아닌 것을 자기 것으로 만들거나 여기는 것입니다. 세상에는 많은 도적질이 있습니다만 그 중에서 가장 근원이 되는 도적질이 있습니다. 그것은 자기 인생을 자기 것으로 아는 것입니다. 인생이라는 것이 자기의 의사로 시작한 것이 아닌데, 그 인생을 자기의 것인 양, 자기가 생각할 때 옳다고 여기는 것을 좇아서 사는 것, 그것이 세상에 있는 모든 도적질의 원조고 가장 큰 도적질입니다.

때로 사람들은 자기의 선택은 고사하고 자기가 수고하지 않은 것도 자신의 것으로 압니다. 날 때부터 부유하게 난 사람이 자기의 부를 가지고 위세를 떠는 것은 단순히 싸가지 없는 것이 아니라 도적질입니다. 때로 남자라는 것으로 자격을 제한하고 권위를 내세우는 것 역시 도적질입니다. 자기 힘으로 남자가 된 것이 아니니, 자신의 성정체성이 남자라는 것이 자기 것이 아닌 것입니다.

그렇듯 사람들은 눈에 보이고, 자기가 관여하지 않았지만 자신에게 형성된 것을 자기 것으로 압니다. 만약 그것이 정말로 자신의 것이라고 우기려 한다면, 자기 인생을 자기 의지에서 시작했어야 하는 것입니다. 하지만 이 세상의 그 어느 누구도 자기 힘으로 자기 삶을 시작한 사람은 없습니다. 그렇다는 것은 그 누구도 자기의 삶이 자기 것이 아니라는 것입니다.

그런데 사람들은 자기 인생은 자신의 것이라고 생각합니다. 자기 인생을 막무가내로 사는 사람들만의 이야기가 아닙니다. 인생의 성취와 보람을 자기가 원하는 것을 이루는 것이라고 가르치고 꿈을 꾸는 것도 같은 것입니다. 자기가 시작도 하지 않은 그 인생과 육신 안에서 나오는 욕망과 꿈이 어떻게 자신의 것이란 말입니까? 그럴 수 없는 것입니다. 사람들은 그냥 그렇다고 치자며 살아가고 있는 것일 뿐입니다. 아무도 자기 삶의 시작을 모르기 때문입니다. 즉 살고 있는 인생이 누구의 것인지 모른다는 것입니다.

우리는 때로 거리의 쓰레기 버리는 곳에서 멀쩡한 물건을 봐도 선뜻 가져오지 못합니다. 왜냐하면 주인이 있을 것 같기 때문입니다. 그렇듯 우리는 존재하는 모든 것에 주인이 있다고 생각하면서 정작 자기 존재의 주인은 누구인지를 알려고 하지 않습니다. 오히려 자신의 것도 아닌 삶을 살면서 자신이 만들거나 기여하지 않은 땅을 자기 것이라고 하고, 심지어 다른 사람도 자신의 것이라고 생각하기도 합니다. 그런 것이 다 도적질입니다.

예수님께서 누가복음 12장에서 어리석은 부자의 비유를 말씀하셨습니다. 자기의 소유를 자신의 것이라 여기는 자에게 하나님께서 “네 목숨을 취하면 너의 것이 누구의 것이 되겠느냐?”고 물으십니다. 목숨도 재산도 다 하나님의 것이라는 것입니다. 하나님의 것이니 목숨을 취하는 것입니다. 그러고 나면 그 사람이 가질 수 있는 것은 아무 것도 없게 되는 것입니다. 그러므로 세상에 있는 것을 모아서 성공에 이르고 그것이 주는 평안을 추구하는 모든 사람은 다 하나님의 것을 도적질한 도둑놈일 뿐입니다.

인생이란 주신 이가 분명히 있습니다. 세상에 주인 없는 것이 없는데 왜 사람이란 존재의 주인이 있다는 것을 생각지 않을까요? 그것은 우선은 눈에 보이는 것을 본질로 보기 때문에 그것이 있으면 족하다 여기는 마음에서 비롯된 것입니다만 가장 근원적인 것은 자기 인생을 주신 주인을 알려고 하지 않기 때문입니다. 그러므로 하나님께서 도적질 하지 말라고 하신 것 중에서 가장 뿌리는 <네 인생이 너의 것이라 여기지 말라>는 말씀이라고도 할 수 있습니다.

전도서의 기자는 

너는 청년의 때 곧 곤고한 날이 이르기 전, 나는 아무 낙이 없다고 할 해가 가깝기 전에 너의 창조자를 기억하라(전 12:1)

라고 말씀하셨습니다. 인생에게 주인이 있다는 것, 우리 인생의 창조주가 계시다는 것, 그것을 아는 것이 바로 도적질을 하지 않는 사람이 되는 것입니다. 다시 말해서 우리의 창조주를 알 때에 십계명의 8계명을 지킬 수 있다는 것입니다.

As such, people are visible and know what they have formed, although they are not involved. If you really think it's yours, then you should have started your life from your will. But no one in this world has ever started his own life. That is to say, nobody knows that his life is not his own.

But people think that their life is theirs. It's not just about people who live their own lives. It is the same as teaching and dreaming that accomplishments and rewards of life are what you want to achieve. What is your own desire and dream that comes from the life and the body that you have not even begun? It is not possible. People are just living and living. Nobody knows the beginning of their lives. That is, you do not know who your life is.

Sometimes we can not bring good things from the garbage dump of the street. Because it seems to be the owner. As such, we do not know who is the owner of our being, thinking we have a master in everything that exists. Rather, he lives a life that is not his own, and says that he owns the land he did not make or contribute, and even thinks that he is his own. Such is all theft.

Jesus spoke in Luke 12 the parable of the foolish rich. To those who regard their own possession as their own, God asks, "If you take your life, who will be yours?" Life and property are all things of God. It is God's, and he takes his life. Then there is nothing that the person can have. Therefore, all those who gather the things in the world to achieve success and pursue the peace that it gives are all thieves who rob the things of God.

There is clearly a person who is given life. Why does not man think that there is a master of being without being master? It is from the heart that it is enough that it is enough if it sees what it sees first because it sees what is visible, but the most fundamental thing is not to know the owner who gave his life. Therefore, the root of what God has said not to steal is the saying, "Do not regard your life as yours."
