(야고보서 5:13-18) 고난당한 자의 기도

하나님을 믿는 하나님의 자녀들에게는 고난이 있다고 성경의 많은 부분에서 말씀하고 있습니다. 성경에서 고난이라고 하면 당연히 예수님께서 받으신 고난이 근본입니다. 하나님을 또 예수님을 믿는다는 것은 결국 예수님의 길을 따라가고, 예수님께서 보이신 그리스도의 본성이 우리의 본성이 되는 것이기에 예수님을 믿는다는 것은 당연히 고난도 따르는 것입니다. 

자녀이면 또한 후사 곧 하나님의 후사요 그리스도와 함께 한 후사니 우리가 그와 함께 영광을 받기 위하여 고난도 함께 받아야 될 것이니라(롬 8:17)

그렇다면 성경이 말씀하시는 고난은 어떤 것일까요? 예수를 믿기 때문에 당하는 손해나 핍박과 같은 것일까요? 물론 그런 것은 예외가 될 수 없습니다. 그러나 본질적인 것을 생각해보면 예수님께서 고난을 받으신 이유를 생각하면 될 것입니다. 예수님을 믿고, 예수님을 따라가다 보니 받는 고난이니 예수님께서 고난을 받으신 이유를 알고, 그 고난이 어떤 것인지를 안다면 우리의 고난도 알 것이기 때문입니다. 그리고 야고보 사도가 왜 고난을 당하면 기도하라고 했는지도 알 것이기 때문입니다.
